Video
GP registrars now have the option to submit a single tape for both
MRCGP and Summative Assessment – the ‘MRCGP/SA single route video’.
The latest date to register with the RCGP for the MRCGP examination is
Friday 21 October 2005 for the Winter 2005 examination

Video Tips
DO:
- Video consultations frequently before
preparing your video for Summative Assessment so that you are used to
working with a video watching you.
- Put a good case first on the tape.
- Keep the cases relatively simple.
- Video your and the patients’ face in
profile.
- Use a wide angle lens.
- Have a remote microphone on the desk
(but not too near your printer or keyboard)
- Use a good editing box.
- Ask your trainer to vet the video before
you send it in for Summative Assessment.
DON'T:
- Submit more than one quickie case
- Submit more than one long complicated
case
