Please refer to the 'Consulting Skills (Video)‘ section on the NOSA  website and make sure you have read the Video Tips.

Video Tips

DO:

  1. Video consultations frequently before preparing your video for Summative Assessment so that you are used to working with a video watching you.

  2. Put a good case first on the tape.

  3. Keep the cases relatively simple.

  4. Video your and the patients’ face in profile.

  5. Use a wide angle lens.

  6. Have a remote microphone on the desk (but not too near your printer or keyboard)

  7. Use a good editing box.

  8. Ask your trainer to vet the video before you send it in for Summative Assessment.

DON'T:

  1. Submit more than one quickie case

  2. Submit more than one long complicated case

  3. A very useful video about videoing is available.  Its name is “Watching You, Watching Me”.
