Certification

As from 1 October 2005, the RCGP and the PMETB have issued new guidelines on the registration and application process for doctors applying for a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or for an assessment of their training. The PMETB offers two routes to certification.

Please also note the following changes:

COGPED video results should now be with the GP Registrars 6 weeks from the date of submission (previously 8 weeks after submission)

The trainer's report can be accepted 6 weeks before final date of completion.

A VTR/1 form can be signed and submitted six weeks before the final day of training in that post but no earlier than this.

N.B. Doctors must be in receipt of their certificate and on the Performers' List of their Primary Care Organisation before starting work in general practice in any capacity. If an application for a certificate is pending, employment must be deferred until the certificate is issued.
